Táim ag tacú leis an rún seo mar tá dualgas orainn seasamh a ghlacadh nuair a fheicimid éagóir. Tá an domhan tar éis féachaint ar an scrios atá déanta ag Iosrael ar mhuintir na Palaistíne. Tá na mílte fir, mná agus páistí maraithe. Tá pobail leagtha go talamh agus tá páistí ag fás aníos faoi bhuamáil, ocras agus eagla. Tá cúiseamh ann faoi chinedhíothú, coireanna cogaidh agus apartheid. Ní féidir linn leanúint ar aghaidh mar is gnáth agus na himeachtaí seo ar siúl. Tá rud simplí á lorg ag muintir na Palaistíne; tá siad ag iarraidh a bpáistí a thógáil i síocháin. Tá siad ag iarraidh a gclann agus a dtodhchaí a thógáil agus saoirse, dínit agus a gceart a gcinniúint féin a mhúnlú ina dtír féin. Sin an fáth go bhfuilim ag tacú leis an rún seo. I support this motion because there are moments when people must choose whether to remain silent or to take a stand. The world has witnessed the devastation inflicted on the Palestinian people by Israel. Tens of thousands have been killed. Homes, schools and hospitals have been destroyed. Children have endured bombardment, hunger, displacement and trauma on a vast scale. Israel is guilty of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of apartheid. These are not matters that can simply be ignored while business continues as usual. The Palestinian people seek what every people seeks: freedom dignity and peace. They want to raise their children safely, build a future, build homes and communities and play football on their own fields and determine their own future in their own homeland. Those aspirations deserve solidarity and support and for those reasons, I support this motion. Israel is not a normal State and it must not be treated as such. Stand up for Palestine, stand up for humanity and stop the game.
