Nobody on that side was interrupted.

Do not point your finger at me.

Fifteen years as spokesman in opposition on finance.

Sentiment score: 0.00

Fifteen years mouthing.

The answer is "No". It is not an issue.

I acknowledge the presence of the president of the IFA, Francie Gorman, as well as Kathleen Herlihy and all the chairpersons of the different counties representing the IFA; John Joe Fitzgerald from the INHFA; the other organisations around the country watching in tonight; the ICMSA; and all the people who represent farmers. When I am speaking here tonight, and I am addressing people sincerely, I am here as a member of the Government, but I am also here as a lifelong member of the IFA, a thing I am very proud of. I paid my membership when it was a troublesome thing to pay it. Like all of you, when you would have had a bill, you would be saying what will I pay and what will I not pay. I am also speaking as a person. I hear an awful lot of people opposite me talking about Bord Bia inspections. To be honest, they would not know a bull from a heifer, a lot of them, and they definitely would not know what a Bord Bia audit was. I do.

Sentiment score: 0.11

I do, 100%.

Sentiment score: 0.00

I can guarantee you one thing: being subject to Bord Bia audits is a worrying thing.

Sentiment score: -0.10

It is a thing you are concerned about. I just want to say I have great respect for the IFA, and its members know that. The Minister alluded to it earlier when we were out at the organisation's 71st AGM, which we were very glad to be at and to be put through our paces, and rightly so, by the president and others from all the sectors of the IFA. That is our job. We are there to work for you and to represent you. I cherish IFA membership. I do have to say that one thing I will never do is mislead anybody. If the IFA wants me to give my honest opinion about this situation, if the IFA is hitching its trailer to Sinn Féin's wagon, that worries me. I will tell you why it worries me.

Sentiment score: 0.16

I will tell you why it worries me.

Sentiment score: -0.42

No, you see-----

Sentiment score: -0.30

Did I shout at any of you?

Sentiment score: 0.00

Can people see now what is happening?

Sentiment score: 0.00

When I am trying to genuinely talk, you are shouting me down.

Sentiment score: 0.00

Did I try to shout you down?

Sentiment score: 0.00

Have a small bit of manners, please.

Sentiment score: 0.32

Try to use up my time, do. You do not like what I am going to say-----

Sentiment score: -0.14

-----but I will continue saying it.

Sentiment score: 0.00

A waffler? I will tell you about waffling. Deputy Kenny made a statement earlier on.

Sentiment score: 0.00

He made a statement. He said this Government had to be brought kicking and dragging over Mercosur. A lot he knows about it. Did he read the programme for Government-----

Sentiment score: 0.00

-----which was written 13 months ago?

Sentiment score: 0.00

What did it say? It clearly said that this Government was going to vote against Mercosur-----

Sentiment score: 0.20

-----and it was going to work with like-minded countries. A lot of work Deputy Kenny did on it. What did he do about it? He mouthed. He went on Facebook. I want to tell the IFA a thing about Sinn Féin and what it is doing.

Sentiment score: 0.01

Its members wake up in the morning, wet their fingers, see which way the wind is blowing and they go that way.

Sentiment score: 0.00

The other thing is that they live for Facebook. Their governance is Facebook.

Sentiment score: 0.00

Their governance is that they get up in the morning, wet their finger, see what way the wind is blowing and that is Sinn Féin policy for the day.

Sentiment score: 0.00

The IFA is hitching itself to its wagons. The killing thing about it is-----

Sentiment score: -0.33

-----that the IFA membership up and down the length and breadth of the country who I am listening to-----

Sentiment score: 0.00

-----and who I am talking to know what this crowd are at. They are using you.

Sentiment score: 0.00

Why are you shouting me down?

Sentiment score: 0.00

It is because I am telling the truth. You do not want to hear what I am saying. Will the Cathaoirleach Gníomhach call for order and keep my time?

Sentiment score: 0.09

Without interruption, thank you.

Sentiment score: 0.00

The other thing I want to say, because I want to call another thing out, is that when I hear-----

Sentiment score: 0.15

Would I interrupt you? I would not dare.

Sentiment score: -0.17

I am going to tackle another thing, and I am talking to Kerry IFA now. I heard a man speaking with great authority, and I am sorry he is not here now, and that is my colleague, Deputy Pa Daly.

Sentiment score: 0.31

I heard him talking with authority about Kerry IFA. Well, I can tell you one thing, he would have to put Gortatlea mart into Google Maps to find his way there because I never met him there. I never met him at an IFA meeting going back over three decades, 30 years, of going to IFA meetings in Kerry-----

Sentiment score: 0.12

-----and then he goes lecturing here tonight.

Sentiment score: 0.00

You see, you do not like what I am saying because what I am saying is hurting.

Sentiment score: -0.59

All you are doing is wetting your finger.

Sentiment score: 0.00

I am telling the truth.

Sentiment score: 0.32

At least I have a soul and a heart.

Sentiment score: 0.00

I am speaking from the heart, if you did not interrupt me, about what we need on this whole issue. That is why I welcome tomorrow. My brother is right when he says the work that the agriculture committee does is good-----

Sentiment score: 0.24

-----because I was in before it today answering questions. Do you know what? Deputy Kenny's questions left a lot to be desired because he did not know what he was talking about. He asked me about schemes that he should have known about. He did not have a clue.

Sentiment score: 0.05

It is no harm to expose that to the IFA.

Sentiment score: -0.74

Deputy Kenny did not know what he was talking about.

Sentiment score: 0.00

I welcome what is going to happen tomorrow. I welcome that there is going to be dialogue. What the Minister wanted all along was for people to sit down and have dialogue. I do not like what has happened over the last week and I will tell you why. I am going to tell the IFA leadership why I do not like it. The most genuine people in the world are at a protest-----

Sentiment score: 0.06

-----at a time when they should be at home because they have enough to be doing at home at this time of the year.

Sentiment score: 0.00

I am sorry we are in this situation, but how it could have been handled was by dialogue, not by entrenchment and not by people saying it has to be this way, like Sinn Féin said it has to be a head and it has to be this and it has to be that.

Sentiment score: 0.48

We stopped fighting and killing each other above in the North by dialogue and by talking, and I recognise 100% the good work Sinn Féin did in that regard, in dialogue, in talking, in negotiating and in using the political system. What I would have liked to have seen happen over the last week was talking and not this entrenchment, because this is getting-----

Sentiment score: -0.14

-----because that is getting the farmers of Ireland nowhere. Again, I am saying this not as a person with my finger wet, like these people across here. I had to listen to another lady a while ago from the Social Democrats talking about farmers in Ireland. She is the woman who, when the Minister brought over Commissioner Roswall about the nitrates derogation and extending it, stood up at a meeting, and Mr. Gorman from the IFA was there and heard what she said, and tried to undermine and sabotage the nitrates derogation the Minister was trying to get extended on the farmers' behalf. We then have a politician here paying lip service to the farmers, the same as these people are.

Sentiment score: -0.06

I ask the farmers to see what they are seeing tonight and see the people who are working for them, the people who want to work with them and to represent them.

Sentiment score: 0.08

We are their servants. We are there to work for the farmers of Ireland, and not this type of nonsense, this rubbish of throwing down a motion. It is like they put down a motion about leprechauns.

Sentiment score: -0.01

See them for what they are doing - rubbish and nonsense, and they know I mean that.

Sentiment score: -0.40

A lot you know.

Sentiment score: 0.00

Ah sure, keep rabbiting on.

Sentiment score: 0.32

You might clarify that because Francie Gorman would be cross with Brazilian beef.

Sentiment score: 0.00

Will Deputy Gould retract his statement about Francie Gorman?
